As public health practitioners, we are constantly assessing community needs and staying up-to-date with lessons learned from our peers. Especially in times of outbreaks or emergencies, this allows practitioners to start along a path and have others follow them – adapting and making changes as they move along.

In cancer control, there are a plethora of organizations and websites that help organize the evidence and best-practices at the state and national level. These are websites that our staff reference regularly and resources which were used and cited within the Iowa Cancer Plan to guide Iowa’s work to reduce the burden of cancer.
