FY27 Iowa Cancer Plan Implementation Grants, Invitation for Proposals
FY27 Grant Information
Every year, the Iowa Cancer Consortium’s Board of Directors invites Iowans to apply for funding to support projects that advance the goals of the Iowa Cancer Plan. In FY27, we remain committed to reducing the burden of cancer in all 99 counties by supporting evidence-based, community-driven work.
Iowa continues to have the second-highest cancer incidence rate in the United States and is one of only three states where incidence continues to rise. According to estimates from the Iowa Cancer Registry’s 2026 Cancer in Iowa Report:
- 21,700 new invasive cancers are expected to be diagnosed among Iowa residents
- 6,400 Iowans will die from cancer
- Cancer remains the second-leading cause of death in Iowa
Every Iowan has a role to play in reducing this burden. The Iowa Cancer Plan provides the roadmap, and these grants help turn that roadmap into action.
FY27 Funding Priority Areas:
- Addressing cancer disparities across the cancer continuum.
- Addressing cancer prevention and/or early detection.
- Expanding successful local projects statewide in Iowa.
- Formalizing lasting and broad change in cancer control through policy and systems change within organizations, systems, and communities.
Funds may not be used for lobbying.
