Iowa Cancer Consortium FY18 Boost Grants

Iowa Cancer Consortium Boost Grants are designed to help Consortium partners increase the impact and/or reach of cancer control work that is currently being completed across Iowa.

The boost grant program will:
  • Contribute funds to current cancer control projects which are currently receiving grant funding -OR-
  • Contribute funds to current cancer control projects which would benefit from receiving funding.
The Iowa Cancer Consortium will also consider applications to fund training or education that would increase the applicant’s ability to do cancer control work if the applicant can show a greater impact/reach as a result of the training or education.

Projects need to align with the newly-released 2018-2022 Iowa Cancer Plan. All applications will need to state at least one goal and action the project aligns with. Special consideration will be given to projects that demonstrate a dedication to the health equity priority. Priority will also be given to applications that plan to disseminate learned information and/or skills to Consortium partners, in an effort to increase sustainability and capacity for all partners.

Letters of Intent are due to Lindsay Heck at heck@canceriowa.org by 5:00 P.M. on November 30, 2017. Final applications are due by 5:00 P.M. on December 13, 2017. Late materials will not be accepted.

Iowa Cancer Plan Implementation Grants

Each year, the Iowa Cancer Consortium Board of Directors releases an invitation for proposals for projects that support the goals, priorities, strategies and action steps in the Iowa Cancer Plan. The main – and largest – invitation for proposals is typically released each year in March. Depending on available funding, the Consortium also releases a smaller invitation for concept grant proposals around August each year. These opportunities are open to the public.

Consortium members are also eligible for occasional pre-packed initiatives such as sun-screen distributions, radon testing projects, and more. Information about becoming a Consortium member is available by clicking here.

Sign up for the Consortium's emails to receive announcements about these and other opportunities as soon as they become available.
