Thyroid Cancer

Thyroid cancer is cancer that forms in the thyroid gland. The thyroid gland is an organ at the base of the throat that makes hormones. These hormones help control heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature and weight. There are four main types of thyroid cancer. These main types are papillary, follicular, medullary and anaplastic thyroid cancer. These types are based on how the cancer cells look under a microscope.
