Small Grants Program

The Iowa Cancer Consortium and its partners are implementing the 2018-2022 Iowa Cancer Plan. We have two funding opportunities that are now open to members. The Consortium anticipates three to five grants at a maxiumum of $5,000 each and applicants may apply for both grant programs, but must do so with different projects.

Be sure to check out the sample grant application materials and scoring rubric below to help you in your process of applying.

Current Projects (Boost) Grants New Projects (Concept) Grants
Awards funding to applicants who are currently carrying out cancer control projects in Iowa, but who could significantly increase the impact and/or reach of their work through a "boost" in funding.  Awards funding to NEW collaborative projects that address identified gaps in Iowa's cancer prevention and control efforts.

Successful applicants will:

o   Incorporate goal(s) and action(s) from the 2018-2022 Iowa Cancer Plan.

o   Describe the evidence-based cancer control work they are currently carrying out.

o   Describe how the reach and/or impact of their work could be significantly increased with additional funding and how Boost Grant funds would drive this.

In addition to traditional implementation projects, the Iowa Cancer Consortium will consider applications to fund training or education that would increase the applicant’s ability to do cancer control work if the applicant can show a greater impact/reach as a result of the training or education. The applicant must also include a plan within their proposal to disseminate learned information/skills throughout Consortium partners.
